Hello,
The Concept
has arrived.
I use it with optical cabel on my Digitall World Satelite
receiver and with a Van den Hul audiocabel for digital
out from my Marantz SACD 17 player. I have a Marantz
PM 17 amplifier and Tannoy S6 standing speakers connected
with Van den Hul Clearwater to Tannoy ST50 Supertweeters.
It is cabled with Van Den Hul Wing to the amplifier.
The
sound is total different now !
More detail: especially small instruments and little
background sounds , dynamic, but also quiet and easy,
human voices and instruments are real. Deep low natural
bass and clear high. Singers and orchestra are in my
room now!
I'm very satisfied.
Later I will write a review on the forum, when the Concept
is played in.
Greetings,
H. Rensink (The Netherlands)

Hi
Albert,
Just a quick note to thank you for the quick delivery
of my moodlab
Dice, Approximately 4 or 5 days from you
to me.
I have had the Dice
in my System for just over a week now, replacing my
previous Scott Nixon TubeDac. I bought the Dice
mainly, because I wanted
more flexibility with inputs (TubeDac has Coax Digital
only). I now have
my Denon DVD220 hooked up for CD playback (via Coax),
My Digital Video
Recorder (Via Optical) for TV sound and my notebook hooked
up for
playback of downloaded files and streamed audio.
Although I was never displeased with the TubeDac when
I used it,
replacing it with the Dice
has provided much greater detail to the sound
I get from my CDs. With the Dice,
the sound seems to project further
into the room and does not seem to be coming from a pair
of speaker
boxes, i.e. it seems to exist in its own space. Bass also
seems to be
much tighter than the TubeDac, making it easier to follow
bass rhythms.
Cosmetically, it is a very attractive unit, with the semi-transparent
front panel and the LEDs shining through (Though my wife
believes they
are bit brighter than they need to be...). My only issue
with the
operation of the Dice
is that the input selector switch is on the back
panel. In the instance where only one input is used this
would not be a
problem but, as I mentioned above, I am using all three
inputs. However,
saying that, putting a selector on the front panel would
probably impact
the good looks of the Dice.
Anyway, Thanks very much for a great product and I hope
to be enjoying
the Dice
for years to come.

| Hi
Albert,
Thanks
for the email and my apologies for not contacting you
sooner. Yes the Cocnept
DAC has arrived safely (in record time) and to say I'm
delighted by both the build and sound quality would
be an understatement. Having recently borrowed a friends
Altman (Attraction) DAC and being soundly disappointed
by the exagerated claims about it's (mediocre) build
and (mundane) sound (turgid bass response, phasey pinched
upper mid, synthetic and distant top end), your product
was a genuinely pleasent surprise. It's deeply comforting
to know that some people are still driven by a genuine
desire to acheive excellent sound quality at a sensible
price and in doing so passing on the benefits to others.
Thanks
for an excellent product and needless to say excellent
service.
Regards,
A.

| Hello
Albert,
Yes, the Concept
has arrived but I have only used it for about 7 hours
so it’s not run in yet. So far it has better bass and
treble response, the mid range is like miracle. Sound
stage is good now but still getting better. Once I put
25 hours on it I will compare it with the DAC in the
Yamaha CDC755 it is replacing and write back. Will also
try different audio interconnects.
Will let you know more
in a week or two once I get the hours up.

| Hi
Albert,
Thanks for your message.
The DAC arrived 4 days
after I ordered which was a pleasant surprise - the
package tracking service was very good. The box was
well packed and arrived without any signs of being mishandled.
The DAC was well put together and everything worked
straight out of the box. I like the indicator of locked
signal (green) vs no signal (red). The DAC now sits
quite discreetly in the stereo rack.
I am using the
Concept DAC to take the optical signal
from my Airport Express to my home stereo (Naim amp
and speakers). The i-tunes on my Mac sends to the Airport
Express.
Sounds good - open,
balanced and warm sound. Have compared the output with
my CD player (Naim CD5i). For it's price the
Concept does a great job.
best regards

| Hello
Albert,
Yes the DAC arrived and fast!!
The
Dac is playing for 10 days now and the sound getting
better every day.
First
my System:
Preamp
is homebuild with e288cc tubes and V-Cap teflon coupling
caps
Monoblocks modified Sphinx PJ12
CD player modified Meridian 506.24
DVD player Panasonic
Sat tuner Topfield 7700hsci
Speakers Heil AMT Kithara
I've
hooked up the dac to the preamp with the Neotech NEI-3002
and the
CD-player with the Neotech NEI-2001 and the DVD and
Sat. with the Van
den Hul Optocoupler.
For
the Sat tuner and the DVD player the sound with the
Concept
is an
incredible step upward, it is really fantastic to watch
concert DVD's now!!
Switching between the Concept
and the Meridian is something else ,here
the Meridian is the better one but the Concept
is coming in real close.
The Meridian has a fuller soundstage, more microdetail
and a harder
attack from the drums and bassdrums.
But
I love the voices and guitars coming from the Concept
they sound
simply real and they are standing really stable in the
soundstage.
The very low bass from the Concept
is very good and clean to my ears even
better then the Meridian.
I
have to say you've built a very musical DAC everything
sounds simply
as music and I can listen hours to it,THANKS.
Thanks and regards,

Hello,
The DAC turned up very fast, post tracking service was
useful.
USB output from my iBook sounds superb, and I'm impressed
by the way the computer recognises the Dice
DAC instantly. Increase in sound quality from my basic
CD player (Phillips CD723) is noticeable, but at the moment
the speakers (B&W 602 s3) are badly arranged because
we're doing some work on the house... so I think the difference
should be even more. I'll let you know how it sounds when
I've got things set up properly.
Many thanks,

| Dear
Albert,
The Concept
DAC has arrived pretty fast. It's up and running since
about 3 weeks and the gain in quality of sound is remarkable
and so far I'm very pleased.
I got my portable computer
hooked up to it (through optical connection) at one
end and my old Marantz (about 25 years old) to the other
end. All in all a nice set up, that sounds rather good.
Best regards,

| Hello
Albert,
The Concept
DAC arrived.
From the short period I did get to listen the Concept
sounds very nice, very detailed much more so than the
other DAC I just sold. I've connected it to an Apple
Airport Express with an optical cable and then to an
Unison Research Unico amp.
If you have some suggestion about the DAC, I accept
them with pleasure!
Meanwhile,
I offer my compliments for the efficiency of moodlab
and I wish you good job. Thanks for all.

| Hello.
Yes, I have listeded to the Concept
dac and I enjoy it very much. It is in many ways similar
in sound to Marantz CD17 I had before. I'm now running
my system without a separate CD player. PS3-Concept
dac-Creek 5350se-KEF Reference 201/2-REL Storm 3. The
highs and mids are very smooth and the dac is easy to
listen to. It is very good on tempo and transients.
It lacks a bit in the bass, but as I use a separate active
subwoofer, its not a problem. I consider this dac to
be a steal for its price. Gold plated connectors would
boost the feel of a quality product, which I consider
this dac to be. I'm very happy about it.

Dear
Albert, an update for my published review.
Update!!!!:
After 2 month - the "arctic coolness" is gone.
The sound is warm and mellow.
Yes, Mellow, mellow, mellow. But super Realistic, I still
jump up when the
telephone in a movie rings. Even the USB input - I am
using it always now -
is not different anymore from the coax, it was sounding
more cold in the
beginning.
GIVE THE Dice
TWO MONTH TO WARM UP AND IT LOOSES ITS COLDNESS COMPLETELY
-
before judging it. (I thought "warming up" was
a myth - it is not)
Best regards

| Hi
Albert,
In
the last weekend I had listen to Concept.
I made a "pre" 48H burn-in with my Logitech
Squeezebox.
Just one word: Concept
is the closest "analog" sound i ever heard
from a DAC. :-)
Beautiful sound stage, sound clear and sharp... I'm
in love with Concept.
:-)
It'd
be good a new model with more coaxial and optical input,
and a front input selector, for plug more device.
I
open a thread on Concept

Hello
Albert,
Now I've had time enough to test the Dice
DAC and do the running in period correctly. The reason
because I have tried so much in reply you has been a software
problem. I explain you: I use the computer as the source
and firstly used ASIO4ALL and WinAmp to play music. The
problem is that WinAmp and a lot of progarms to hear music
use the lose of resolution when you get down the volume.
So firstly I was using the volume control of WinAmp and
keep the volume control of my amplifier (X-CAN Musical
Fidelity) fix. After talking with a friend I tried to
put at maximum the volume at the WinAmp and controle the
volume with the amplifier control and it was a huge change:
the music didn't collapse in tutti sections (I hear a
lot of classical music) and gained in response speed,
sounded fuller, warmer and smoother. Firstly I tired very
soon to hear music because it was very agressive to my
ears but after doing this change I could be hours and
hours hearing music. Another change that improved the
hearing was to change WinAmp with Foobar, and in output
preferences you can use the moodlab as
output device and precise the output data format (I think
for the dice is 16 bites). I think you can explore these
posibilities and put some advices for good use in your
web
In other hand, in terms of hearing I have meet the Dice
a very serious device. The principal characteristic is
the gain of clarity that you can experiment more evident
in chamber and poliphonic music. Another hit is the realism
you reach, above of all, in the voices and solo instrumens,
it's like the singer were at your side. The music also
gains in dynamics and there is more diference between
pianissimos and fortissimos. As the principal characteristic
I would tell that the Dice
takes out the deeper in every recording: you can hear
every effort and efect that do every performer. And it
helps you to difference better between the good and bad
performances. Resuming a very good investment for my sound
system.
Nothing else, I would like my comment would be of utility
and it my advises could serve to new computer listeners.
Thank you for everything and best regards D.

| Hello,
First, thank you for the extremely fast delivery.
I am very satisfied with your Dice
DAC. I'm using it with my laptop and an external USB
drive with the USB connection to the DAC.
It sounds great! To be precise, the bass is not quite
as detailed or as full as my Sony XB790, but I didn't
expect it to be. However, after hours of listening I'm
not at all disappointed.
The sound is detailed and transparent and there is no
sense of fatigue even after several hours of continuous
listening.
I love the convenience of having my extensive CD collection
on my harddrive and catalogued for easy access.
In short I can heartily recommed the Moodlab
Dice to anyone looking to build a harddrive
based system without any loss of fidelity.
For your information I am a professional classical musician.
My system:
Musical Fidely A2 integrated amplifier
ALR Jordan Note 3 speakers (outstanding resolution,
transparency and depth)
Sony SCD XB790 (SACD)
Kimber speaker cables and inter-connects

Albert,
I bought it because
I didn't like a lot the sound of my PlayStation3 with
my Rotel amplifer and Mission speaker.
When arrived the Concept

i set the output frequency to 44,1 Khz in bitsream mode.
After this upgrade I relistened my favourite Music DVD
Video and the sound changed completely BETTER.
I want Thanks you for all.

Hello,
I am using the Concept
DAC with a Sky HD box. It is a big improvement over the
onboard DAC, especialy with music. There is much more
detail. Individual instruments are seperated out, making
listening more enjoyable.
I tried it with my Sony DVP-NS770V DVD player and Muscial
Fidelity A5 CD player. It's much better than the DAC in
the DVD player. It's not as good as the DAC in the CD
player, but that is in a different price league, so I
would have been upset if it was.

| Thank
you moodlab
for that cool DAC
I bought it from Ebay UK and it come with a UK power
supply - BUT with an adapter for German / Austrian wall
sockets. Thats cool.
The Dice
looks Nice - an aluminium case with a thick translutient
front. Nice that Dice.
It´s very stylish and gives a futuristic arctic cool
look - Ice cubish.
Arctic coolness is somehow defining the sound of the
Dice too. The sound is not needly enervating, but opening
an cool arctic horizon with a lot of sun shinning brightly.
No, its not sounding very warm "analog", Its
more like a Linn Sondek in the freezer.
The speed and timing is perfect. Its indeed music coming
out of it on a quite high level.
I had different CD Players, an old DAC5 from Mission,
a Marantz 74 Player and a Playstation. Lately I heared
Lossless (FLAC) compressed music from my harddisc using
a M-Audio Audiophile 2496 USB.
My Marantz - though not very detailed - was the most
musicaly playing audio gear I head, only being beaten
by the Playstation SCPH 1002. The M-Audio USB sounded
more detailed, but somehow "not completely right"
compared with my Marantz and the Dice.
The Playstation was very warm and analog, with a exellent
feeling for the timing. The sounds had time to die away.
The problem with the playstation is, that it is not
exactly a very reliant device.
The Dice
give the waves plenty of time to die away too and is
doing quite fine so far.
I think I will get a warm jacked, a cup of hot tea and
keep it.
Btw. I never heared "Antarctica" from Vangelis
so authentic.
Warm sound from a tube based system? not with the (D)ICE
cube.
Thank you Albert for that cool DAC.

This DAC is perfectly amazing !!!
I installed it this morning with a Panasonic DVD player
as source......
The stereo amp is a Yamaha and speakers are Warfedale

It transformed the sound very radicaly..... I never
hoped this result !!!
Dynamic, but also punchy, but without agressivity......
Even my wife hears the difference between now and before
!!!
Thanks for this Concept
DAC.

Hi.
I use an old Kenwood 7060 as CD-Drive via Toslink. The
Powercord was very thin. Today I change it to a better
Powercord. Wow, now it sounds right :) .
Before this I use a T+A CD1250R CD-Player. I would say
the sound is very near from the quality from your DAC
to the T+A.

| Hey
Albert,
Yes, it arrived quickly
and in perfect condition. Thanks! I did mean to email
you but I guess I got too tied up in re-listening to
all my CD collection.
I'm feeding the DAC
from the optical out of a Mac Mini. The Concept
DAC then goes into a TA-10.1 and my
B&W DM602s3s. I love it! I wouldn't describe myself
as an audiophile at all although I work in pro audio
but I like to think I have ears that can tell what sounds
'good'. This setup sounds fantastic. It's great to have
such a compact hifi that with the exception of the speakers
is fully portable.
Keep up the good work.
I hope business is going well for you guys. You make
great products.
All the best,

| Hi
Albert,
After a couple of weeks
audition, I am very pleased with the sound from the
Dice,
extremely detailed compared to my vintage Meridian CD
system, and I am busy ripping the CDs to apple lossless

I may even upgrade my
amp and speakers to take advantage of the new sound
quality I am receiving!
Thank you for an excellent
product at a very reasonable price.

Albert,
Many thanks for the email. I'm absolutely over the moon
with both the service and the unit itself. My DAC arrived
in just 3 days and was very well packaged. The unit itself
is beautiful to look at (it looks even better than the
pictures on the web site) and sounds stunning. Especially
clear midrange and a very tightly controlled bass. It
is a huge upgrade to my AV setup for very modest outlay.
In short, another very satisfied customer!
Thanks,

| Hi
Albert
With that modification, the Concept
locks fine, and I can play my music through the DAC
without problems.
The sound is a big improvement to the motherboard's
lineout - particularly the bass. I am very pleased
with it. I would like to thank you for your exceptional
after-sales service - without which I doubt I would
have overcome the problem with my motherboard SPDIF
signal. I will recommend your product and company
without hesitation to anybody looking for a DAC. Many
thanks.

| Dear
Albert,
The
reason I have been trying to contact you is to thank
you for your speedy delivery. Despite a postal strike
over here at the time I received the Concept
DAC safely on the 10th October- just three working days
after placing my order - first class service.
I set it up initially with a very old Philips CD player
as transport and then with a NAD 542, and straight out
of the box the DAC performed superbly. In fact this
"cheap" combination sounds better than the
now-defunct Meridian 506 CD player I have been using
for the last ten years or more. And it seems to be improving
the more I play it.
Based on what I have heard so far I would recommend
the Concept
DAC to anyone in the market for a new mid-range CD player
(or has an on old player that needs upgrading). Instead
buy a cheapish CD player, add a Concept
DAC, link it all together with some decent interconnects
and sit back and be prepared to be very impressed!
Kind Regards

Thank you so much for
helping me set up the
Dice using Linux!
I am now listening my
music collection using the linux box and I would like

with excellent timing and pace. Female vocal is so silky
and refine. All in all, bravo!
May I wish you and your
company every success!

| Good
morning from Scotland,
My Concept
arrived this morning via UK customs in perfect working
order,congrats on the packaging!
First impressions are
very good with a much better soundstage/bass extension
than the bare Squeezebox 3.
I'm using IXOS Toslink cable between SB3 and Concept
and it's connected to a Bonnec Timpano preamplifier
(£3K). So it's getting a good frontend! My speakers
are Linn Products Kabers actively driven by 3 x Artikulate
C4200 Chakra amplifiers.
My ultimate decision
on buying your product was helped by reading your customer's
reviews and also audio forums.
The Concept
is sitting next to my Linn Linto,so flat earth vs digital
eh?! :-)
Many thanks for your
quick service from HK and I will send an update when
I have had more time to have a serious listen!

Albert!
The DAC arrived 3 days
after payment - from Hong Kong to Germany - really great!
The product: I connected
the DAC to my Windows Vista Media Center PC and a Yamaha

- i have to say: WOW! WOW! WOW! There is so much more
sound in the room with your DAC - i wouldn't believe

design of your DAC is fantasic, too.

| Hi
Albert
Yes, it arrived very
quickly indeed. I started thinking of buying the Concept
originally because of mains hum feedback issues on a
satellite receiver (my hi-fi is pretty good). The DAC
didn't solve the hum! But the improvement on sound from
the satellite is great - on TV certainly but what impressed
me was that satellite radio has now become a real pleasure.
The sound quality from
the Concept
is very nice: musical, makes me want to listen more,
and very accurate.
All-in-all, a great
experience buying the product from you (it is cute too).
Thanks a lot.
Best regards.

| Hi,
Yes
the DAC arrived without difficulty. The system was very
easy to use and worked right away. I have noticed a
nice improvement in sound quality (after sending music
out from the computer via the USB vs the headphone jack).
We have yet to convert to lossless music files so I
suspect the music will even be better once we have.
Thanks again.

| Hi
Albert
I have just installed
new speakers, the old ones were partly blown and distorting.
Today is first day that I can evaluate the Dice
and it is wonderful, even before the new speakers have
‘run in’. The Dice
gives a wonderful vinyl sound to my music on hard drive
and it is a magnetic listening experience already. Many
thanks for your interest, I will mail again in a month
or so when it has all settled down.

Albert,
The Dice
has a full, rich sound. Very easy to relax into the

up to a lot of fun. Thank you.

Evening
Albert,
I am used to a traditional stereo system comprising of
a Linn Genki, Naim NAC92/NAP90 playing through Linn Kans
which I have been very pleased with.
But I wanted to integrate my music collection and devices
and so designed a new system around my iPod Video using
iTunes and MythTv to push my collection around the house.
This meant that my Genki was no longer the front end but
a media pc. I found the sound was all over the place with
overblown bass and washed out definition.
Now this is where the Concept
comes in :-)
I wanted to try and remove the terrible DAC device built
into a pc, and just use the pc to stream the mp3's digitally
to the Concept
which hopefully would do a job nearer to the Genki.
So that's the background, on first listen I am finding
that the bass has smoothed out and stopped being overblown
plus I can now hear the lyrics and follow the tune a lot
easier. There is a lot more detail as well on further
listening...
Don't know if it is as good as the Genki but then it would
be a harsh comparison really comparing a £1000 Linn Cd
player to a £150 DAC!
I will keep on listening and see if the
Concept 'beds' in over next month which
I suspect it will. I have also bought some new Linn Ninka
speakers (worth £3500!) and a NAIM NAP140 which has 'fleshed'
out the sound immensely.
My old system above has moved upstairs which has an xbox
attached to it, once it is up and running I will be very
tempted on getting another DAC from you to allow me to
listen to music there with the same quality as in the
living room.
Anyway enough of my ramblings, thanks for a great product
and service,
Nigel (UK) |

| Hello
Albert,
The sound quality?
The change from the
sound that I was experiencing before the Dice
made its way to my system is enormous. Sometimes it
is hard to believe that something so small can have
such a profound impact, but it is almost as if
I have upgraded the whole system! There is more bass,
without any loss of control or pace, in fact these areas
has improved almost as much as the quantity, sweeter
treble, also without any loss of detail or timing. And
we
can add to this an increase in 'musicality', everything
that comes out of the speakers is just so much more
enjoyable. Very much a case of the proverbial 'it seems
though I am re-discovering my music collection again'.
I guess that for a music lover there is nothing like
hearing all your music again for the first time.
And one more thing it is still getting better, each
time I listen it is even more pleasurable.
Well done Albert, please feel free to quote this if
you would like.
Cheers
George (UK)

| Albert,
Faced with a dead CD
player, I opted to base my audio system around
lossless FLAC files on my PowerBook G4 paired with the
Concept
DAC
using an optical S/PDIF link.
In blind comparisons
with high-end equipment, I have been very
impressed with the solid engineering and genuinely audiophile
quality
from this DAC which gives a precise presentation, good
dynamic range
and a particularly expansive sound stage.
As an adjunct to the
Mac, a moodlab
DAC is the perfect companion
which brings high-end audio to everyone.
Best regards,
Joel (UK)

| Hi
Albert,
I connected the Concept
to my top quality dvd player NAD T562 with a good Toslink
cable and to my Cyrus pre-power amplifiers and the sound
is astonishing great!!! It is so analog sounding ( like
from an LP) and I have a beautiful warm sound with wide
and deep soundimage and nice details. At the moment
I like it more than the sound of my Cyrus CD player....it
is less agressiv.
I play mostly jazz and classical music and I am sure
to have nice evenings in the future discovering again
my CD's...
Much greetings,
Frank (Belgium) |

| Hey
Albert!
Just wanted to let you
know that I have been using the moodlab
Dice thingy a lot over the last week. It sounds fantastic!
Very clear. I would like to buy another one for my other
stereo system in another room. Do you have an even better
quality model?
Kindest regards, and
thanks again for making me very happy with my music.
Cheers

| Hello
Albert!
Haven't been able to
try the dac for some time because I was looking for
a cheap and small cd-transport. I want one like a external
dvd-burner. But I didn't find one so I plugged it in
to my old dvd and I must say "The Concept"
dac sounds really really good. Full-bodied, warm, open
soundstage, musical etc. I'm very pleased.
Tack for en jattebra
produkt! (Thanks for a really good product!)

| Dear
Albert,
I'm particulary happy.
Your DICE DAC has greatly
improved the sound of my DVD reader (a NAD), which is
much clearer now, not to mention the sound of my PC.
I am very grateful to
you.

| 試聴させていただいた機器の構成は以下の通りです,
CDプレーヤー : Philips
LHH300
アンプ : Philips
LHH200A
SPK : Dynaudio
Contour 1.1

Dear Moodlab,
The
Dice has played very well in my system,
it outperforms my CD player (a Densen Beat). The sound
from the DAC is very clean and musical. I love the Dice
very much.
I will try to connect
it to my Mac later and report to you soon.

| Hello.
The DAC has arrived
and I am very pleased with it so far, got it yesterday.
I am using it between a SlimDevices Squeezebox and my
pre. As other has commented it sounds very “analog”
compared to the other equipment I have.
Very fast delivery,
impressing!
Best regards

| Ciao
Albert,
!!
Ottimo prodotto ALBERT
!!
Saluti

| hey
guys! yes actually just got it yesterday. was slightly
disappointed as a day or two after i ordered you changed
the Concept DAC to the new one, but oh well. I was slightly
skeptical about the whole DAC thing to start, wondering
if it would actually make an audible difference (or
improvement) in my system. I did some back to back comparisons
with the DAC on and off yesterday after i hooked it
up. I noticed a smoother bass response and some details
in my music i had not noticed before. Overall not a
dramatic improvement, but definately audible. I am happy
for the price I paid, but am glad it wasn't a $1200
unit that the Concept gets reviewed against!

Hello,
I
am writing to let you know that the Dice DAC has arrived.
:-)
I
have connected the Dice to my computer and playing my
music using foobar2000 with ASIO4All plug-in. All I
want to say is WOW, wonderful sound from my Stax headphones.
As I previously mentioned, I am using an Apogee mini
DAC and I am ready to sell the Apogee now.
Great
product and well done.

| Hi
Albert,
the Concept DAC sounds
wonderful:
Great soundstage and
superb dynamics over all. Big Band Jazz has a lot of
punch in bass!
I really enjoy listening,
now.
What makes me wonder that it doesn´t matter if a quality
CD-Player or a cheap DVD-Player is used for transport
- just the same result in sound. Your reclocking system
to avoid jitter seems to work perfect!

The Dice DAC arrived and I have connected it to an Apple
Aiport Express - Cyrus 8 and Smartpower amplifiers and
Spendoe S5e loudspeakers. It is a amazing improvement
with the Airport Express!
I am very impressed with the improvement in sound quality,
Kind regards

"...I
decided to sell the Beresford after a while and I bought
a Moodlab Concept to replace it. This was after thinking
long and hard about whether or not I should wait and
get a MKIII when it came out. I found the Moodlab to
be much better sounding, to my ears. It was fuller sounding
with even a touch more detail, quite punchy and dynamic
too...."

| Hi
there,
I'm just contacting
you to say I received the Concept DAC I ordered last
week.
I've only had time for
a small listening session before I had to go to work
this morning, but my initial impression is that this
is an excellent sounding DAC! (not to mention its cool
looking and well built)
I bought the unit to
replace a similarly-priced DAC I had recently bought
as an upgrade to one of my CD turntables, but hadn't
been entirely happy with. I must say that straight away,
the Concept DAC is MUCH better. The sound was much more
full-bodied and warm than the DAC i had previously.
It also has better dynamics, tighter bass and a much
better soundstage. I'm an instant fan of the NOS sound
now.
I will be buying a second
Concept for my other CD turntable as soon as funds allow,
hopefully in a month or two.
Thanks for the great
service and making such a fantastic product.
Regards,
Adam (UK)

Hi
Albert
Yes it has arrived - many thanks
Haven't had a lot of time to evaluate the unit as yet
but of first listening, it has certainly improved the
sound quality.

Hi
Albert,
A quick email to let you know how impressed I am with
the DAC. I am using it with my media centre pc via the
usb connection.
The DAC has enabled my hard drive stored music collection
to sound almost as good as CD's played on my £1000 Musical
Fidelity CD player. Bass is deep but tight, and the soundstage
has really opened up, the music no longer sounds compressed.
Thanks again Albert for an excellent product!

| Hi
Albert,
Thank you.
The shipment was sensational
fast, I'd like to say.
Thank you very much.
It would have been arrived
at 20.12., but the local postman made a mistake
so that the DAC arrived at 22.12. (and that's really
fast enough :-) )
In my opinion, the DAC
itself is a great product.
Very good sounding machine.
I like the deep soundstage and the "non-harsch"
sound.
I think it goes in the analog direction, just a bit
like my turntable.
I use the DAC with my
Squeezebox 3.
The mechanical design
is also very good.
Nice case and nice frontpanel.
I think a good sounding device should also look good.
In fact the Concept-DAC does.
Thank
you very much and best regards,

Hi
Albert,
HMMMM,
that started good!
Then i connect the Dice via usb to my laptop.
Hey, a second led went on in the Dice and new drivers
were installed.
I started Foobar 2000 and loaded a few tracks ripped
in flac format.
At Last, a beautiful sound emerged thru my speakers!
After that i connected my NAD dvd player via coax s/pdif
to the Dice and again a beautiful sound!
Well it does not matter, this is the first time i hear
this quality sound coming from my laptop.
Thanks,
Titus.

Hello
Albert,
Yes I received and installed the DAC.
I am satisfied with the DAC. The sound results clearer
and more detailed.
I think a major improvement will be evident when I will
upgrade my loudspeakers.
