Feedback from our happy customers

Dear Mr Albert

The problem was in fact the custom!!! They keep asking papers and more papers...but now it is were and I just love how it sounds!

My System:
- Miniwatt tube amp: an set amp with 2,5 w per channel, with upgrade tubes, and a Cooper Alpha Line power Cable.
- Tekton 6.5 Speakers, an full range, single drive, without crossovers, 94dB, connected with Chord Carnival Silver Screen speakers cables
- An Onkyo DX 7355 cd player, used as an transport, connect via an coaxial cable to the dac, Qed Reference cable.
- And the moodlab Concept, connected to the amp by an Atlas Equator MKII rca cable.

The moodlab as an solid build, very well done, and good looking.

The sound is very smooth, neutral, and with an "touch" of Vinyl...it sounds as an turntable...which is very nice.
The combination of the SET amp, and the Full range speakers with the moodlab..is great.
Treble is very rich...with all instruments playing in the right way...very clear...
Bass is controlled, not an heavy punch...but very enjoyable...
The midrange is fantastic...the Nos dac, makes the sound very cristal...not rude...not warm...but it feels like the band is playing in my living room...

I Feel the Concept is an great value for the money...

My system without the moodlab, using the Onkyo dac (wolfson WM8716) 192 kHz/24-Bit), is more artificial sounding...is good but I think it plays a lot more...neutral...vinyl...cristal sound with the Concept DAC!!!
I use an CD that I know very well, and is fantastic to do the tests on my equipments, Alice And Chains, Live Unplugged...and the moodlab Concept pass the test with a high grade...

Thanks I higly recomend the Concept to everyone with an low watt amp (tubed or not)...

The last note is that I can hear music for hours without any fatigue...it's like an private session for you..at your home

Compliments

Hello,

I received the Concept DAC some days ago. Thank you very much. It is a truly remarkable piece of audio equipment considering the price. I use the Concept DAC with a media player and it really makes it sing. It isn't totally burnt in yet, but from the first moment it was a clear improvement over the standard output of the media player. In the past I have had several -what is said to be- high end audio units (Spectral, WADIA, CEC) and with the Concept DAC I have the same kind of feeling as I had before with those units. Of course not completely up to par, but the same hint of true love of music. Thank you for the fast shipping and I will definitely recommend this DAC to my friends.

regards,

V. van Vreden (Netherlands)

Hi Albert

The Concept DAC has arrived - quite some time ago!

Im very impressed. I can not really compare it as i have never had a DAC before but it certainly out performs the ones in the products.

It is used to take the Optical out from a PS3, where the music is stored and from the dac it goes to a valve pre power combination.

It is quick, authoritative, musical - i like it.

Thank you very much!!

Kind regards

L. Miller (UK)

Hi Albert,

I'm very happy with the sound of the Concept DAC. It sounds very smooth and analog like a good turntable. The soundstage is huge with air around the instruments and I can hear details that I did not hear before. The Concept also portrays dynamics very nicely and has very good PRAT factor. It is truly a winner, in fact I'm ordering another one for my other system.

Thanks
T. Tran (USA)

Hi Albert

The Concept Dac did indeed turn up last week and first impressions are very positive. I have not
had enough time to do a full evaluation so will let you know once the unit is burned in
and I have had some more listening time.

Thanks for the quick turn around on delivery and

best regards

M. Gateley (UK)

Hi,

I am using the Concept DAC with an iMac and Apple airport express into my stereo (Sugden amplifier / Tannoy speakers)

Need to do a bit more burning in and a bit more listening, but basically very happy.

I'm using new audio cables with it so they need some burn in time too (Chord Chameleon Silver plus).

Sounds heaps better than the dac in airport express and the cheap cable I was using with it.

Thanks for your good service and communication.

Rregards

J McKee (Australia)

Hi Albert,

The Concept DAC arrived safely thanks - sounds good too. A noticeable improvement over my Squeezebox’s internal DAC. Impressive to be able to make this differsence for not a lot of money. Interestingly the sound quality using the coaxial digital in is slightly but definitely better (more full and smooth) than using the optical in. This could be due to the cables but I was using a fairly high quality glass toslink interconnect and a relatively cheap coaxial cable. Not a problem just interesting like I say.

Thanks again,

Regards,

J. Sullivan (New Zealand)

Dear Albert,

The Concept has arrived. Really a great product. I opened The Magic Flute listening.
My best wishes for your business ... deserved success.

Ciao.

R. Benedetti (Italy)

Dear Albert

Thanks very much for asking.

I'm very happy with the dice DAC indeed. I've set up a home network and have connected it to a laptop via USB in order to play our music collection off a central network hard disk (all saved as lossless Windows Media files). Works perfectly and sounds great with my newly acquired Naim amp and Audiovector speakers. It's the by far the best sounding stereo I've ever had.

Improvements (that would suit my taste):
less strong light from the LEDs
A button on the front to switch between the three inputs (or even better: automatic switching between the inputs, if that's possible at all).

Best,
J. Konradsen (Denmark)

Hi Albert

Yes the Concept DAC has arrived. I plugged it in and warmed up my valve amp before playing. I attached t to my NAD BEE 521 CD Player.
First impressions weren't that good. Seemed to lack depth and detail of CD player. However, I knew there had to be a burn in period so left it in my system.

I am glad I did... Amost two weeks in and around 70 hours of playing I am truly blown away with the sound. It is amazing. I am using a KT88 Valveamp, Acoustic Energy EVO speakers. DNM Solid core speaker cable and Van den Hul Bay C5 connectors. I play hard rock / metal most of the time and this set up is a dream. Doubt if I'll be upgrading much in the future. Never been so satisfied with my audio set up as I am now.

Regards

T. Colbourne (UK)

Hello Albert,

I think the Concept took about 20-25 hours of playing to completely open up.

I am very pleased with the sound. It's sounds well balanced, open and compelling.

Best regards,

J. Denneman (Netherlands)

Hi

Like the way you operate.
Clean design, smooth ordering....very 2009 of you!

Hooked it up to Squeezebox and SET flea amp.
Have another NOS DAC, like yours better.

Glad I found the Concept. Have tons of gear in rotation but something
tells me the Concept stays where it is.
Thanks for making music intelligently.

Good evening, yes the Concept DAC did arrive safely and I am very pleased with the improvement in sound my Marantz 66 CD has now.

As I already have a 'DICE' I had no hesitation in buying the non USB version for purely HI-FI use.

This is a great product, well constructed, value for money and with excellent delivery - I can heartily recommend

Thanks again and kind regards,

Hello

Concept DAC is arrived.
I have listened the DAC sound. It's very good.
The high frequency are wide and clean, the bass frequency is very well.
A very good "sound machine" !!

Best Regards

S. Mangialasche (Italy)

Hello Albert,

I received the Concept DAC in good order and after a couple of days of burn in I am amazed about the quality of the sound.
Compared to my +2k euro Rega Saturn there is so much more air, speed and detail.
On good recordings the sound of instruments is also so much more natural.
The best results I get with the Glass Optical Cable.
I also tried a silver teflon BNC cable but the former is absolutely better.

Thanks very much and greetings from the Netherlands.

R. Arink (Netherlands)

Hi

I received the Concept DAC in good order…thanks for the fast shipping! I’m currently using it connected to an Apple AirPort Express via the TOSLINK connection and it works great! There’s no latency when I start streaming music to the unit and the sound quality is exactly as advertised - great!

Thanks!

J. C Taylor (USA)

Hi Albert,

Thanks for your email, Yes I received and setup the Concept DAC at the end of last week and am very pleased with the results so far. I have not had a chance to do any serious testing yet, but initial results are extremely impressive, Thank you for supplying this little gem.

Hi Albert,

Many thanks - the Concept arrived yesterday and it is in my system warming up now

I am very impressed with your service and the product really looks great. It is sounding good too but I will wait until it has run a few hours and I can sit down and enjoy over the weekend

Best regards,

Albert,

Very good service, the dac arrived very fast (within 5 days) and functions. The difference between my old setup and the inclusion of the dice dac is audible. Let me expain.

In my home there no TV, no hifi stereo installation or anything of that kind any more. All my media experiences are with a MacBook connected to a set of audioengine 5's and a sanyo plv-z5 beamer. Before the arrival of the dice dac the (analogue) line-out of the macbook was used to get the audio to the speakers. Now, the dice dac has come between (usb connected) and it makes a difference. The audio coming from my MacBook (Itunes AAC encoded 256/128 vbr, dvd and live tv) sounds more spatial (better channel seperation?) with clearer highs, more defined middle and better proportioned bass. With better proportioned bass I mean that bass is there but not rumbling through any more (as with the macbook line-out). It sounds defined with clear starting and ending points.

All in all I am very pleased with the dice dac and the sound improvement and, as I understand, it will only improve with more playing time.

Kind regards,

J. Tennekes (Netherlands)

Hello!

I am really satisfied with your speedy delivery and your friendly service and help after the delivery. The Concept DAC brought a big audible improvement of the sound, wich is now less harsh and more pleasant to hear.
Thanks!

B. Ouamar (Germany)
Hallo Albert,

Some time has passed by and I can tell for sure I'm very satisfied with my Dice DAC. I use it for listening music from my PC through the following audio chain:

1- PC;
2- USB cable;
3- Dice DAC;
4- G&BL middle quality cables;
5- NAD C325BEE integrated amplifie;
6- aplifier-loudspeakers connection with ordinary power cable 4x1,5 square mm each;
7- JBL TLX-500 3 way loudspeakers.

As you can see my audio system has nothing very expensive (as my wallet is always empty) but is still something you can ear to with satisfaction.
I can say that the Dice is at ease in this system and can supply a music flow that do not make me miss my old cd-player with internal DAC.
Good precision, details, good dynamics... I think I should spend much more money to see the audio limits of your DAC... and maybe I should have another pair of ears.
I also appreciate very much the alluminum-plexiglass case.

Just a tip to improve your DAC:

1- The pair of white-blue leds on the front are way too bright to fit with the due delicacy near other audio components usually characterized by fading lightings.

Thank you for your attention and my compliments for the overral quality of the product and the service.

M. Cauda (Italy)

Hi Albert,

I have received the DICE.......it sounds absolutely fantastic exactly what I was hoping for! It absolutely trashes the FUBAR 2 USB DAC.

I am using EAC to rip CD in paranoid mode, play back using Foobar 2000 with ASIO support. I think this is a really great product.

If you can recommend the best way to get the data out of my PC to the DAC i would be thank full.
Many thanks,

G. Atwaul (UK)

Hi Albert,

Thanx for the quick delivery, the Concept works fine, I now have a broader stereo image.

I have wonderful music with the Concept, the connection is to my Apple Airport Express.

Both inputs (coaxial and optical) work fine when connected to my CD-player as well.

Greetings,
J-E Maneschijn (Netherlands)

Dear Albert,

CONCEPT DAC was arrived a few days ago with EMS courier. I was listened it for some hours. It sounds fine, more analogue, than my other one. It seems to me, that acoustic music sounds well through CONCEPT DAC. It is my first impressions, for more impressions more time.

I am satisfied with CONCEPT.

Regards,

N. Sidorov (Russia)

Hi Albert,

The DAC arrived last week - better postal service than locally!

My system is now set up and I’m relieved to be very pleased with your Concept DAC. Unlike the Roku, there’s a real and positive difference to the sound when the Sonos is diverted through the DAC - much less muddy and the spatial separation is also better. It is a slightly colder sound but I can live with that. Presbyacusis is starting to get to me so I see no point in spending even more money on the listening experience of my children and pets!

Anyway, will recommend your product to anyone who asks. Several of my friends are interested in the Sonos system (which is fantastic I must say) so will be showing it off.

All the best,

N. Flatt (UK)

Hi,

I use a high end Naim system. With the moodlab Dice connected to a laptop via the Usb port even the most compressed mp3's are clean and musical. The lossless files are very good. I'm very impressed.

Regards

R. Paget (UK)

Dear Albert!

The Moodlab Dice has arrived yesterday and made it´s way through customs obviously
without any problem. Very nice build quality matching the looks of our MacMini for what
it´s destined to work. Just had a glimpse of the sound quality hooking the Dice up to the
MacMini and listened to some 320 kbps files on my wife´s hard disk. Very refined sound
though I didn´t make any direct comparisons to the Naim CDI (with the TDA 1541 DAC)
in our music room. I will be reporting later...

I don´t have the possibility to test it in the nearer future - it´s just temporarily hooked
up (we´re renovating the house and inhabit only some of our rooms). I´m plannning to use
the Dice in a minimalistic chain in the new living room with a MacMini/ external hard disk
as music server, a t-amp and a setup of Magnepan MMG W´s I just ordered (subwoofer to
follow). We already have changed the old living room into a music listening area with the
big rig. So I think the Dice will be doing it´s job in the future right well ? if I manage to get
the setup right.

With the best wishes for the (still) new year!

Regards from a happy customer in Germany

Dr. S. Bender (Germany)

Hello Albert.

I have now listened to the Concept DAC's in a number of setups and playing a
varity of styles of music. I find that it has extraordinary detail and
has a very clear sound. For some tracks it is a little bit too lean
for my taste, but it generally outperforms my CD player.

So I am satisfied with my purchase, and look forward to seeing moodlab expand it's product portfolio in the future.

Best,

M. Holst (Denmark)

Hello Albert!

Today I recieved my Concept, a handful of days after ordering it. I was looking for a solution to upgrade my already quite decent Mac Pro + Audioengine 5 combination. I wasn't sure what to expect since I had found no reviews of the Concept or Dice in combination with the Audioengines, but based on positive general reviews I gave it a shot and ordered the Concept.

I have to say that its above my expectations. I expected clear and detailed sound, surpassing my onboard audio. And I had earlier done a comparison by connecting my Marantz CD60000OSE straight to my speakers, creating a noticably better experience than my onboard audio, but the Concept has definately taken my sound up a big notch.

Whilst the Marantz was clearer and had a better soundstage than my onboard audio the differences were not that great. I had to listen and compare the two sources for a while before coming to a conclusion. The Concept on the other hand blew me away right out of the box. I even notice some instruments in songs that 'Ive listened to quite a bit, instruments that were much less clear earlier now take an active part of the tunes.

Thanks for a great product!

Warm regards,

J. Martensson (Sweden)

Dear Albert,

Sorry about the very long delay. I was initially using the Concept dac using the toslink (optical) output of my Yamaha CDC755. There was an improvement in sound but not as much as I had expected. I then played round with things and found that the sound level of the player could be lowered and this also lowered the sound level through the toslink output as well. I then connected the dac to my Philips DVD player (base model) and what a difference! It tuned my base DVD player into a high end music player. Music sounds fantastic, drums, cymbals, guitars, pianos and horns sound like they should. Voices are realistic and full, back ground detail and soundstage are all there, not blurred in the mix. The rest of my system is nothing special Denon PMA-700AE amp and Polk S10 speakers so a better system would produce even better results. I now need to buy another DVD player as the Philips and your Dac will be the new CD player in my system for years to come. A great product I will be recommending to my friends, it has now given me many musical hours of enjoyment.

Hello Albert.

Yes I received the Concept DAC very quickly. I’ve been on holiday so haven’t had much time with it yet. Initial impressions are that it’s an huge improvement on my Squeezebox. I’d like to have a bit more time with it before commenting further. I’ll email you in a month or so.

Fyi, my amp is a Musical Fidelity A300 and the speakers are Monitor Audio Studio 20 SEs.

Thanks.

Heay Albert,

Did you ship your products with a rocket? Just only 2 days from Hong Kong to Amsterdam is just insane…

I love the way the Concept DAC looks, a solid hand made product!

The DAC is connected to a Rotel RC1070/RB1080 and the sound is magical! Like other people wrote on the reviews your DAC does give a nice pure analog touch to the music, extremely detailed and a true compliment for hi-fi equipment!

Thanks

Hello,

The Concept has arrived.
I use it with optical cabel on my Digitall World Satelite receiver and with a Van den Hul audiocabel for digital out from my Marantz SACD 17 player. I have a Marantz PM 17 amplifier and Tannoy S6 standing speakers connected with Van den Hul Clearwater to Tannoy ST50 Supertweeters.
It is cabled with Van Den Hul Wing to the amplifier.

The sound is total different now !
More detail: especially small instruments and little background sounds , dynamic, but also quiet and easy, human voices and instruments are real. Deep low natural bass and clear high. Singers and orchestra are in my room now!
I'm very satisfied.
Later I will write a review on the forum, when the Concept is played in.

Greetings,
H. Rensink (The Netherlands)

Hi Albert,

Just a quick note to thank you for the quick delivery of my moodlab
Dice
, Approximately 4 or 5 days from you to me.

I have had the Dice in my System for just over a week now, replacing my
previous Scott Nixon TubeDac. I bought the Dice mainly, because I wanted
more flexibility with inputs (TubeDac has Coax Digital only). I now have
my Denon DVD220 hooked up for CD playback (via Coax), My Digital Video
Recorder (Via Optical) for TV sound and my notebook hooked up for
playback of downloaded files and streamed audio.

Although I was never displeased with the TubeDac when I used it,
replacing it with the Dice has provided much greater detail to the sound
I get from my CDs. With the Dice, the sound seems to project further
into the room and does not seem to be coming from a pair of speaker
boxes, i.e. it seems to exist in its own space. Bass also seems to be
much tighter than the TubeDac, making it easier to follow bass rhythms.

Cosmetically, it is a very attractive unit, with the semi-transparent
front panel and the LEDs shining through (Though my wife believes they
are bit brighter than they need to be...). My only issue with the
operation of the Dice is that the input selector switch is on the back
panel. In the instance where only one input is used this would not be a
problem but, as I mentioned above, I am using all three inputs. However,
saying that, putting a selector on the front panel would probably impact
the good looks of the Dice.

Anyway, Thanks very much for a great product and I hope to be enjoying
the Dice for years to come.

Hi moodlab,

Magnificent sound (especially using BurwenBobcat ) and build quality . Very
high "wife approval factor" .Price /quality ratio of
АК47. Thanks for fast delivery .

With kind regards

A. Denisov (Czech Republic)

Hi Albert,

Thanks for the email and my apologies for not contacting you sooner. Yes the Cocnept DAC has arrived safely (in record time) and to say I'm delighted by both the build and sound quality would be an understatement. Having recently borrowed a friends Altman (Attraction) DAC and being soundly disappointed by the exagerated claims about it's (mediocre) build and (mundane) sound (turgid bass response, phasey pinched upper mid, synthetic and distant top end), your product was a genuinely pleasent surprise. It's deeply comforting to know that some people are still driven by a genuine desire to acheive excellent sound quality at a sensible price and in doing so passing on the benefits to others.

Thanks for an excellent product and needless to say excellent service.

Regards,

A. Bissland (Australia)

Hello Albert,

Yes, the Concept has arrived but I have only used it for about 7 hours so it’s not run in yet. So far it has better bass and treble response, the mid range is like miracle. Sound stage is good now but still getting better. Once I put 25 hours on it I will compare it with the DAC in the Yamaha CDC755 it is replacing and write back. Will also try different audio interconnects.

Will let you know more in a week or two once I get the hours up.

Regards

G. Vaticano (Italy)

Hi Albert,

Thanks for your message.

The DAC arrived 4 days after I ordered which was a pleasant surprise - the package tracking service was very good. The box was well packed and arrived without any signs of being mishandled. The DAC was well put together and everything worked straight out of the box. I like the indicator of locked signal (green) vs no signal (red). The DAC now sits quite discreetly in the stereo rack.

I am using the Concept DAC to take the optical signal from my Airport Express to my home stereo (Naim amp and speakers). The i-tunes on my Mac sends to the Airport Express.

Sounds good - open, balanced and warm sound. Have compared the output with my CD player (Naim CD5i). For it's price the Concept does a great job.

best regards

T. Rule (Australia)

Hello Albert,

Yes the DAC arrived and fast!!

The Dac is playing for 10 days now and the sound getting better every day.

First my System:

Preamp is homebuild with e288cc tubes and V-Cap teflon coupling caps
Monoblocks modified Sphinx PJ12
CD player modified Meridian 506.24
DVD player Panasonic
Sat tuner Topfield 7700hsci
Speakers Heil AMT Kithara

I've hooked up the dac to the preamp with the Neotech NEI-3002 and the
CD-player with the Neotech NEI-2001 and the DVD and Sat. with the Van
den Hul Optocoupler.

For the Sat tuner and the DVD player the sound with the Concept is an
incredible step upward, it is really fantastic to watch concert DVD's now!!
Switching between the Concept and the Meridian is something else ,here
the Meridian is the better one but the Concept is coming in real close.
The Meridian has a fuller soundstage, more microdetail and a harder
attack from the drums and bassdrums.

But I love the voices and guitars coming from the Concept they sound
simply real and they are standing really stable in the soundstage.
The very low bass from the Concept is very good and clean to my ears even
better then the Meridian.

I have to say you've built a very musical DAC everything sounds simply
as music and I can listen hours to it,THANKS.

Thanks and regards,
W. Grievink (Netherlands)

Hello,

The DAC turned up very fast, post tracking service was useful.

USB output from my iBook sounds superb, and I'm impressed by the way the computer recognises the Dice DAC instantly. Increase in sound quality from my basic CD player (Phillips CD723) is noticeable, but at the moment the speakers (B&W 602 s3) are badly arranged because we're doing some work on the house... so I think the difference should be even more. I'll let you know how it sounds when I've got things set up properly.

Many thanks,

B. Bridgens (UK)
Dear Albert,

The Concept DAC has arrived pretty fast. It's up and running since about 3 weeks and the gain in quality of sound is remarkable and so far I'm very pleased.

I got my portable computer hooked up to it (through optical connection) at one end and my old Marantz (about 25 years old) to the other end. All in all a nice set up, that sounds rather good.

Best regards,

K. Klomp (Switzerland)

Hello Albert,

The Concept DAC arrived.
From the short period I did get to listen the Concept sounds very nice, very detailed much more so than the other DAC I just sold. I've connected it to an Apple Airport Express with an optical cable and then to an Unison Research Unico amp.
If you have some suggestion about the DAC, I accept them with pleasure!

Meanwhile, I offer my compliments for the efficiency of moodlab and I wish you good job. Thanks for all.

W. Floris (Italy)

Hello.

Yes, I have listeded to the Concept dac and I enjoy it very much. It is in many ways similar in sound to Marantz CD17 I had before. I'm now running my system without a separate CD player. PS3-Concept dac-Creek 5350se-KEF Reference 201/2-REL Storm 3. The highs and mids are very smooth and the dac is easy to listen to. It is very good on tempo and transients. It lacks a bit in the bass, but as I use a separate active subwoofer, its not a problem. I consider this dac to be a steal for its price. Gold plated connectors would boost the feel of a quality product, which I consider this dac to be. I'm very happy about it.

J. Nordblom (Finland)

Hello Albert,

The Concept DAC arrived on Monday, Really fast shipping!
Music developed soon, and meantimes I am happy with the little DAC, which is now much better than the digital section of my Sony CDP.

Kind regards

G. Simon (Germany)
Dear Albert, an update for my published review.

Update!!!!:
After 2 month - the "arctic coolness" is gone. The sound is warm and mellow.
Yes, Mellow, mellow, mellow. But super Realistic, I still jump up when the
telephone in a movie rings. Even the USB input - I am using it always now -
is not different anymore from the coax, it was sounding more cold in the
beginning.

GIVE THE Dice TWO MONTH TO WARM UP AND IT LOOSES ITS COLDNESS COMPLETELY -
before judging it. (I thought "warming up" was a myth - it is not)

Best regards
C. Brincken (Austria)
Hi Albert,

The DAC arrived in three 3 days! The sound of the Concept DAC is definitely better than the one in my TVIX. My initial impression is that the treble is more detailed and sweeter. Thank You!

I've taken many days listening to your Concept DAC and now I'm sure it's very good and I'm satisfied
to buy it.

Thank You.

Hi Albert,

In the last weekend I had listen to Concept. I made a "pre" 48H burn-in with my Logitech Squeezebox.
Just one word: Concept is the closest "analog" sound i ever heard from a DAC. :-)
Beautiful sound stage, sound clear and sharp... I'm in love with Concept. :-)

It'd be good a new model with more coaxial and optical input, and a front input selector, for plug more device.

I open a thread on Concept in www.avforum.it, the bigger italian forum of audio and video. You'll find the thread here:

http://www.avmagazine.it/forum/showthread.php?t=101207

Thanks again,

M. Lener (Italy)

Hello Albert,

Now I've had time enough to test the Dice DAC and do the running in period correctly. The reason because I have tried so much in reply you has been a software problem. I explain you: I use the computer as the source and firstly used ASIO4ALL and WinAmp to play music. The problem is that WinAmp and a lot of progarms to hear music use the lose of resolution when you get down the volume. So firstly I was using the volume control of WinAmp and keep the volume control of my amplifier (X-CAN Musical Fidelity) fix. After talking with a friend I tried to put at maximum the volume at the WinAmp and controle the volume with the amplifier control and it was a huge change: the music didn't collapse in tutti sections (I hear a lot of classical music) and gained in response speed, sounded fuller, warmer and smoother. Firstly I tired very soon to hear music because it was very agressive to my ears but after doing this change I could be hours and hours hearing music. Another change that improved the hearing was to change WinAmp with Foobar, and in output preferences you can use the moodlab as output device and precise the output data format (I think for the dice is 16 bites). I think you can explore these posibilities and put some advices for good use in your web

In other hand, in terms of hearing I have meet the Dice a very serious device. The principal characteristic is the gain of clarity that you can experiment more evident in chamber and poliphonic music. Another hit is the realism you reach, above of all, in the voices and solo instrumens, it's like the singer were at your side. The music also gains in dynamics and there is more diference between pianissimos and fortissimos. As the principal characteristic I would tell that the Dice takes out the deeper in every recording: you can hear every effort and efect that do every performer. And it helps you to difference better between the good and bad performances. Resuming a very good investment for my sound system.

Nothing else, I would like my comment would be of utility and it my advises could serve to new computer listeners.

Thank you for everything and best regards

Hi,

I have been using the Concept for more than a week now. It really makes my squeezebox sing. Great little box.

A. Pai (Austria)

Hello,

First, thank you for the extremely fast delivery.
I am very satisfied with your Dice DAC. I'm using it with my laptop and an external USB drive with the USB connection to the DAC.
It sounds great! To be precise, the bass is not quite as detailed or as full as my Sony XB790, but I didn't expect it to be. However, after hours of listening I'm not at all disappointed.
The sound is detailed and transparent and there is no sense of fatigue even after several hours of continuous listening.
I love the convenience of having my extensive CD collection on my harddrive and catalogued for easy access.
In short I can heartily recommed the Moodlab Dice to anyone looking to build a harddrive based system without any loss of fidelity.

For your information I am a professional classical musician.

My system:
Musical Fidely A2 integrated amplifier
ALR Jordan Note 3 speakers (outstanding resolution, transparency and depth)
Sony SCD XB790 (SACD)
Kimber speaker cables and inter-connects

Best regards,

G. Murray (Austria)

Hi Albert

Just to let you know, the Concept dac arrived in three days !!

First impressions are good and can become only better after burning in.

I use this dac in combination with a Micromega Stage 6 and it even improves this lovely CD player.

Regards

G. Lommers (The Netherlands)

Thanks!

I will try it some more.

My turntable has a Denon DL-103R pickup. I find it shocking how close the moodlab sounds to this pick-up both played through my Burmester 935 Pre-amp.

Bjorn (Norway)

Hello,

The Concept DAC is very good, much better than my CD players HK970 (Harman Kardon) dacs.

Thanks,
T. Liesjarvi (Finland)

Hello

Concept DAC received ,thanks for your fast service..
I buy it to make a second small system for TV broadcasting.. very
pleased with it

Thanks.

Rohan (France)

Hi Albert,

I bought it because I didn't like a lot the sound of my PlayStation3 with my Rotel amplifer and Mission speaker.
When arrived the Concept DAC I connected it at the optical output of PS3 and i set the output frequency to 44,1 Khz in bitsream mode.
After this upgrade I relistened my favourite Music DVD Video and the sound changed completely BETTER.
I want Thanks you for all.

Best Regards
M. Iannaccone (Italy)

Hello,

I am using the Concept DAC with a Sky HD box. It is a big improvement over the onboard DAC, especialy with music. There is much more detail. Individual instruments are seperated out, making listening more enjoyable.

I tried it with my Sony DVP-NS770V DVD player and Muscial Fidelity A5 CD player. It's much better than the DAC in the DVD player. It's not as good as the DAC in the CD player, but that is in a different price league, so I would have been upset if it was.

S. Burnand (UK)

Hello!

I connected the Concept yesterday, coax from my dvd-player and toslink from my Mac. Flac sounds beautiful! Haven't really tried it out yet, but I will play some records tonight! I'm sure it was well worth the investment!

Best,
Arinbjorn (Norway)

Hi Albert,

Thanks again for fast shipping...today I had the time to have a closer look and especially hear on the Concept and what should I say, it works very fine. Sounds very clear and tidy. What do I have to tell...you know the story :-)

By the way, is it a problem to place the box on one side (90 degree rotatet) to fit inbetween CDs?

Best regards,

H. Wittenfeld (Germany)

Thank you moodlab for that cool DAC

I bought it from Ebay UK and it come with a UK power supply - BUT with an adapter for German / Austrian wall sockets. Thats cool.

The Dice looks Nice - an aluminium case with a thick translutient front. Nice that Dice. It´s very stylish and gives a futuristic arctic cool look - Ice cubish.

Arctic coolness is somehow defining the sound of the Dice too. The sound is not needly enervating, but opening an cool arctic horizon with a lot of sun shinning brightly. No, its not sounding very warm "analog", Its more like a Linn Sondek in the freezer.
The speed and timing is perfect. Its indeed music coming out of it on a quite high level.

I had different CD Players, an old DAC5 from Mission, a Marantz 74 Player and a Playstation. Lately I heared Lossless (FLAC) compressed music from my harddisc using a M-Audio Audiophile 2496 USB.

My Marantz - though not very detailed - was the most musicaly playing audio gear I head, only being beaten by the Playstation SCPH 1002. The M-Audio USB sounded more detailed, but somehow "not completely right"
compared with my Marantz and the Dice. The Playstation was very warm and analog, with a exellent feeling for the timing. The sounds had time to die away. The problem with the playstation is, that it is not exactly a very reliant device.

The Dice give the waves plenty of time to die away too and is doing quite fine so far.
I think I will get a warm jacked, a cup of hot tea and keep it.

Btw. I never heared "Antarctica" from Vangelis so authentic.
Warm sound from a tube based system? not with the (D)ICE cube.

Thank you Albert for that cool DAC.

C. Brincken (Austria)

Hi Albert,

It is a good DAC. However, I am not an expert, I can
only say the sound is smooth and non-fatigued.

Good construction of the Concept DAC.

Thanks and regards,
George (Hong Kong)

Hi,

This DAC is perfectly amazing !!!
I installed it this morning with a Panasonic DVD player as source......
The stereo amp is a Yamaha and speakers are Warfedale ......

It transformed the sound very radicaly..... I never hoped this result !!!
Dynamic, but also punchy, but without agressivity......

Even my wife hears the difference between now and before !!!

Thanks for this Concept DAC.

Best regards,

S. Danloy (Belgium)

Hi.

I use an old Kenwood 7060 as CD-Drive via Toslink. The Powercord was very thin. Today I change it to a better Powercord. Wow, now it sounds right :) .

Before this I use a T+A CD1250R CD-Player. I would say the sound is very near from the quality from your DAC to the T+A.

M. Famulla (Germany)

PS. My english is not so well.
Hello,

Your dac plays very well in any range of price. A miracle for the
cost. I am using it with my Micromega and I prefer the Concept dac and
his sound.

Sorry again for my english

Ciao

Stefano (Italy)

Hey Albert,

Yes, it arrived quickly and in perfect condition. Thanks! I did mean to email you but I guess I got too tied up in re-listening to all my CD collection.

I'm feeding the DAC from the optical out of a Mac Mini. The Concept DAC then goes into a TA-10.1 and my B&W DM602s3s. I love it! I wouldn't describe myself as an audiophile at all although I work in pro audio but I like to think I have ears that can tell what sounds 'good'. This setup sounds fantastic. It's great to have such a compact hifi that with the exception of the speakers is fully portable.

Keep up the good work. I hope business is going well for you guys. You make great products.

All the best,

T. Fletcher (UK)

Hi Albert,

After a couple of weeks audition, I am very pleased with the sound from the Dice, extremely detailed compared to my vintage Meridian CD system, and I am busy ripping the CDs to apple lossless so I can play them back using the Mac and USB.

I may even upgrade my amp and speakers to take advantage of the new sound quality I am receiving!

Thank you for an excellent product at a very reasonable price.

Best regards,
M. Bedish (UK)

Albert,

Many thanks for the email. I'm absolutely over the moon with both the service and the unit itself. My DAC arrived in just 3 days and was very well packaged. The unit itself is beautiful to look at (it looks even better than the pictures on the web site) and sounds stunning. Especially clear midrange and a very tightly controlled bass. It is a huge upgrade to my AV setup for very modest outlay.

In short, another very satisfied customer!

Thanks,

R. Kent (Linlithgow - UK)

Hi Albert

With that modification, the Concept locks fine, and I can play my music through the DAC without problems.

The sound is a big improvement to the motherboard's lineout - particularly the bass. I am very pleased
with it. I would like to thank you for your exceptional after-sales service - without which I doubt I would
have overcome the problem with my motherboard SPDIF signal. I will recommend your product and company
without hesitation to anybody looking for a DAC. Many thanks.

Best regards
S. Murphy (UK)

Dear Albert,

The reason I have been trying to contact you is to thank you for your speedy delivery. Despite a postal strike over here at the time I received the Concept DAC safely on the 10th October- just three working days after placing my order - first class service.

I set it up initially with a very old Philips CD player as transport and then with a NAD 542, and straight out of the box the DAC performed superbly. In fact this "cheap" combination sounds better than the now-defunct Meridian 506 CD player I have been using for the last ten years or more. And it seems to be improving the more I play it.

Based on what I have heard so far I would recommend the Concept DAC to anyone in the market for a new mid-range CD player (or has an on old player that needs upgrading). Instead buy a cheapish CD player, add a Concept DAC, link it all together with some decent interconnects and sit back and be prepared to be very impressed!

Kind Regards
G. Lord (UK)

Albert,

Thank you so much for helping me set up the Dice using Linux!

I am now listening my music collection using the linux box and I would like to tell you that I like it a lot. It gives me a very clean and detail sound. The jazz reproduction is outstanding with excellent timing and pace. Female vocal is so silky and refine. All in all, bravo!

May I wish you and your company every success!

Regards,

Dirk (The Netherlands)

Good morning from Scotland,

My Concept arrived this morning via UK customs in perfect working order, congrats on the packaging!

First impressions are very good with a much better soundstage/bass extension than the bare Squeezebox 3.
I'm using IXOS Toslink cable between SB3 and Concept and it's connected to a Bonnec Timpano preamplifier (£3K). So it's getting a good frontend! My speakers are Linn Products Kabers actively driven by 3 x Artikulate C4200 Chakra amplifiers.

My ultimate decision on buying your product was helped by reading your customer's reviews and also audio forums.
The Concept is sitting next to my Linn Linto,so flat earth vs digital eh?! :-)

Many thanks for your quick service from HK and I will send an update when I have had more time to have a serious listen!

D. Mclaughlin (UK)

Have received the Concept DAC.

I am very impressed by the excellent sound quality it provides.

Thanks

Hi Albert!

The DAC arrived 3 days after payment - from Hong Kong to Germany - really great!

The product: I connected the DAC to my Windows Vista Media Center PC and a Yamaha High-End Stereo System with the digital Coax connector - i have to say: WOW! WOW! WOW! There is so much more sound in the room with your DAC - i wouldn't believe it, if someone other tells this. The technical and optical design of your DAC is fantasic, too.

Regards from Germany to Hong Kong
Peter (Germany)

Hi Albert

Yes, it arrived very quickly indeed. I started thinking of buying the Concept originally because of mains hum feedback issues on a satellite receiver (my hi-fi is pretty good). The DAC didn't solve the hum! But the improvement on sound from the satellite is great - on TV certainly but what impressed me was that satellite radio has now become a real pleasure.

The sound quality from the Concept is very nice: musical, makes me want to listen more, and very accurate.

All-in-all, a great experience buying the product from you (it is cute too).

Thanks a lot.

Best regards.

Steve (Luxembourg)

Hi,

Yes the DAC arrived without difficulty. The system was very easy to use and worked right away. I have noticed a nice improvement in sound quality (after sending music out from the computer via the USB vs the headphone jack). We have yet to convert to lossless music files so I suspect the music will even be better once we have.

Thanks again.

V. Schroeder (USA)

Hi Albert

I have just installed new speakers, the old ones were partly blown and distorting. Today is first day that I can evaluate the Dice and it is wonderful, even before the new speakers have ‘run in’. The Dice gives a wonderful vinyl sound to my music on hard drive and it is a magnetic listening experience already. Many thanks for your interest, I will mail again in a month or so when it has all settled down.

Best Regards

M. Smith (UK)

Hi Albert,

The Dice has a full, rich sound. Very easy to relax into the music and enjoy. I like it! The bass is strong and it grooves right along. I'm using my Apple Macbook Pro and inexpensive little book shelf speakers. It all adds up to a lot of fun. Thank you.

Best Regards,

T. Andersen (USA)

Evening Albert,

I am used to a traditional stereo system comprising of a Linn Genki, Naim NAC92/NAP90 playing through Linn Kans which I have been very pleased with.

But I wanted to integrate my music collection and devices and so designed a new system around my iPod Video using iTunes and MythTv to push my collection around the house.

This meant that my Genki was no longer the front end but a media pc. I found the sound was all over the place with overblown bass and washed out definition.

Now this is where the Concept comes in :-)

I wanted to try and remove the terrible DAC device built into a pc, and just use the pc to stream the mp3's digitally to the Concept which hopefully would do a job nearer to the Genki.

So that's the background, on first listen I am finding that the bass has smoothed out and stopped being overblown plus I can now hear the lyrics and follow the tune a lot easier. There is a lot more detail as well on further listening...

Don't know if it is as good as the Genki but then it would be a harsh comparison really comparing a £1000 Linn Cd player to a £150 DAC!

I will keep on listening and see if the Concept 'beds' in over next month which I suspect it will. I have also bought some new Linn Ninka speakers (worth £3500!) and a NAIM NAP140 which has 'fleshed' out the sound immensely.

My old system above has moved upstairs which has an xbox attached to it, once it is up and running I will be very tempted on getting another DAC from you to allow me to listen to music there with the same quality as in the living room.

Anyway enough of my ramblings, thanks for a great product and service,

Nigel (UK)
Hello Albert,

The sound quality?

The change from the sound that I was experiencing before the Dice made its way to my system is enormous. Sometimes it is hard to believe that something so small can have such a profound impact, but it is almost as if
I have upgraded the whole system! There is more bass, without any loss of control or pace, in fact these areas has improved almost as much as the quantity, sweeter treble, also without any loss of detail or timing. And we
can add to this an increase in 'musicality', everything that comes out of the speakers is just so much more enjoyable. Very much a case of the proverbial 'it seems though I am re-discovering my music collection again'.
I guess that for a music lover there is nothing like hearing all your music again for the first time.
And one more thing it is still getting better, each time I listen it is even more pleasurable.
Well done Albert, please feel free to quote this if you would like.

Cheers

George (UK)

Albert,

Faced with a dead CD player, I opted to base my audio system around
lossless FLAC files on my PowerBook G4 paired with the Concept DAC
using an optical S/PDIF link.

In blind comparisons with high-end equipment, I have been very
impressed with the solid engineering and genuinely audiophile quality
from this DAC which gives a precise presentation, good dynamic range
and a particularly expansive sound stage.

As an adjunct to the Mac, a moodlab DAC is the perfect companion
which brings high-end audio to everyone.

Best regards,

Joel (UK)

Hi Albert,

I connected the Concept to my top quality dvd player NAD T562 with a good Toslink cable and to my Cyrus pre-power amplifiers and the sound is astonishing great!!! It is so analog sounding ( like from an LP) and I have a beautiful warm sound with wide and deep soundimage and nice details. At the moment I like it more than the sound of my Cyrus CD player....it is less agressiv.
I play mostly jazz and classical music and I am sure to have nice evenings in the future discovering again my CD's...

Much greetings,
Frank (Belgium)

Hey Albert!

Just wanted to let you know that I have been using the moodlab Dice thingy a lot over the last week. It sounds fantastic! Very clear. I would like to buy another one for my other stereo system in another room. Do you have an even better quality model?

Kindest regards, and thanks again for making me very happy with my music.

Cheers
Peter (Australia)

Hello Albert!

Haven't been able to try the dac for some time because I was looking for a cheap and small cd-transport. I want one like a external dvd-burner. But I didn't find one so I plugged it in to my old dvd and I must say "The Concept" dac sounds really really good. Full-bodied, warm, open soundstage, musical etc. I'm very pleased.

Tack for en jattebra produkt! (Thanks for a really good product!)

Dan Goransson (Sweden)

Dear Albert,

I'm particulary happy.

Your DICE DAC has greatly improved the sound of my DVD reader (a NAD), which is much clearer now, not to mention the sound of my PC.

I am very grateful to you.

Bruno (Italy)

Thanks Albert. The Concept arrived on Saturday. Great little gadget you produce. It
does wonders to my Squeezebox.

Cheers

Andrew Marascelli (Australia)

試聴させていただいた機器の構成は以下の通りです,

CDプレーヤー : Philips LHH300

アンプ : Philips LHH200A

SPK : Dynaudio Contour 1.1

Dear Moodlab,

The Dice has played very well in my system, it outperforms my CD player (a Densen Beat). The sound from the DAC is very clean and musical. I love the Dice very much.

I will try to connect it to my Mac later and report to you soon.

Best regards,

Van Der Veen (The Netherlands)

Hello.

The DAC has arrived and I am very pleased with it so far, got it yesterday. I am using it between a SlimDevices Squeezebox and my pre. As other has commented it sounds very “analog” compared to the other equipment I have.

Very fast delivery, impressing!

Best regards

Trond Kjetil (Norway)

Ciao Albert,

Ottimo prodotto ALBERT !!

Saluti
Giorgio (Italy)

hey guys! yes actually just got it yesterday. was slightly disappointed as a day or two after i ordered you changed the Concept DAC to the new one, but oh well. I was slightly skeptical about the whole DAC thing to start, wondering if it would actually make an audible difference (or improvement) in my system. I did some back to back comparisons with the DAC on and off yesterday after i hooked it up. I noticed a smoother bass response and some details in my music i had not noticed before. Overall not a dramatic improvement, but definately audible. I am happy for the price I paid, but am glad it wasn't a $1200 unit that the Concept gets reviewed against!

Hannah (USA)
Hello!

I picked up the dac yesterday and it sounds fantastic! I’m really impressed, this is good value for money.

Thank you for fast delivery and an excellent product.

Hello,

I am writing to let you know that the Dice DAC has arrived. :-)

I have connected the Dice to my computer and playing my music using foobar2000 with ASIO4All plug-in. All I want to say is WOW, wonderful sound from my Stax headphones. As I previously mentioned, I am using an Apogee mini DAC and I am ready to sell the Apogee now.

Great product and well done.

Regards,

Joe (USA)

Hi Albert,

the Concept DAC sounds wonderful:

Great soundstage and superb dynamics over all. Big Band Jazz has a lot of punch in bass!

I really enjoy listening, now.
What makes me wonder that it doesn´t matter if a quality CD-Player or a cheap DVD-Player is used for transport - just the same result in sound. Your reclocking system to avoid jitter seems to work perfect!

Regards

Horst (Germany)

Albert,

The Dice DAC arrived and I have connected it to an Apple Aiport Express - Cyrus 8 and Smartpower amplifiers and Spendoe S5e loudspeakers. It is a amazing improvement with the Airport Express!

I am very impressed with the improvement in sound quality,

Kind regards

J A Cramer (UK)
Dear Albert,

it arrived on Friday. I am so pleased, it sounds really good, even better than my Paradisea. Great bass lines :-)

Once again thank you for resolving the delivery problem.

Kind regards,

Hi,

Just a quick report, I have connected the Dice to my Stereo and laptop computer,

Nothing to say on the audio quality: it makes every source play wonderful!

Thank you, and best regards,

"...I decided to sell the Beresford after a while and I bought a Moodlab Concept to replace it. This was after thinking long and hard about whether or not I should wait and get a MKIII when it came out. I found the Moodlab to be much better sounding, to my ears. It was fuller sounding with even a touch more detail, quite punchy and dynamic too...."

Hi Albert.

Received the Concept today and very please with it straight out of the box!

Hi there,

I'm just contacting you to say I received the Concept DAC I ordered last week.

I've only had time for a small listening session before I had to go to work this morning, but my initial impression is that this is an excellent sounding DAC! (not to mention its cool looking and well built)

I bought the unit to replace a similarly-priced DAC I had recently bought as an upgrade to one of my CD turntables, but hadn't been entirely happy with. I must say that straight away, the Concept DAC is MUCH better. The sound was much more full-bodied and warm than the DAC i had previously. It also has better dynamics, tighter bass and a much better soundstage. I'm an instant fan of the NOS sound now.

I will be buying a second Concept for my other CD turntable as soon as funds allow, hopefully in a month or two.

Thanks for the great service and making such a fantastic product.

Regards,
Adam (UK)

Hi Albert

Yes it has arrived - many thanks

Haven't had a lot of time to evaluate the unit as yet but of first listening, it has certainly improved the sound quality.

Hi Albert,

A quick email to let you know how impressed I am with the DAC. I am using it with my media centre pc via the usb connection.

The DAC has enabled my hard drive stored music collection to sound almost as good as CD's played on my £1000 Musical Fidelity CD player. Bass is deep but tight, and the soundstage has really opened up, the music no longer sounds compressed.

Thanks again Albert for an excellent product!

Mick Knights (UK)
Hi Albert,

Thank you.

The shipment was sensational fast, I'd like to say.
Thank you very much.

It would have been arrived at 20.12., but the local postman made a mistake
so that the DAC arrived at 22.12. (and that's really fast enough :-) )

In my opinion, the DAC itself is a great product.
Very good sounding machine.
I like the deep soundstage and the "non-harsch" sound.
I think it goes in the analog direction, just a bit like my turntable.

I use the DAC with my Squeezebox 3.

The mechanical design is also very good.
Nice case and nice frontpanel.
I think a good sounding device should also look good.
In fact the Concept-DAC does.

Thank you very much and best regards,
Michael Foerster (Germany)

Hi Albert,

HMMMM, that started good!
Then i connect the Dice via usb to my laptop.
Hey, a second led went on in the Dice and new drivers were installed.
I started Foobar 2000 and loaded a few tracks ripped in flac format.
At Last, a beautiful sound emerged thru my speakers!
After that i connected my NAD dvd player via coax s/pdif to the Dice and again a beautiful sound!

Well it does not matter, this is the first time i hear this quality sound coming from my laptop.

Thanks,

Titus. (Netherlands)

Hello Albert,

Yes I received and installed the DAC.
I am satisfied with the DAC. The sound results clearer and more detailed.

I think a major improvement will be evident when I will upgrade my loudspeakers.

Thanks and regards

The DAC has arrived. I've also tried it. Very satisfied :-)
Thanks a lot for all Your help.

Gustavsen (Norway)

Overall verdict: Enjoyable sound, good separation, pleasant tone (a touch sweeter than the Rega): quite musical and never harsh, perfectly good bass in quality, but less quantity than the Rega, and the Rega also added a bit more drama & "thump" to the rockier stuff. But in general the DAC and the Rega sounded surprisingly similar to my ears.

Jonathan (Bristol, UK)

It arrived this mornig... and it sounds so good!

thanks a lot!!!!

Mario (Italy)

Albert,

Listened to the DICE last night through USB… what a revelation! I had no idea that 16bit digital can sound so good! I played lossless encoded files through Foobar and ASIO. My notebook computer has now become a high end digital source, hard to believe but true. Great product Albert!

Regards,

Nick (Australia)

Albert,
All working fine now, thank you very much. Hours and hours of computer music without interruption!

Guy Bloomfield (New Zealand)

Hi Albert,

After installing the Concept DAC, my Tube Amp produces crisper and more detailed sounds. I like very much. Your products are remarkable. That proof my decision is correct, the Concept DAC is the best buy! If you have new product, please inform me.

Thanks again.

Peter Chow (Hong Kong)

Hi Albert

Received the DAC over the weekend, but have been away so first chance to respond. Love the little box, sounds great.

Thanks

Malcolm (UK)

Hi moodlab,

Performance is very good, it serioulsy improved my marantz 6000KI, made my humble 565i sound very good and even did good things to a friends meridian 507. Describing the sound is very difficult, its certainly more musical than the standard players and, dare I say, more analogue. There's masses more depth to the sound and its all very 3D if you get what I mean.

Stuart (UK)

Hi. I actually have already bought a dice dac from you and am absolutely loving it! The sound and build quality are excellent. The resolution and dynamics are amazing for the price. I have previously owned Naim, Linn, Burmester & Classe electronics and don't miss any of them! I'll give you excellent feedback.

Thanks again for an excellent product.

James (UK)

Albert,

The Dice DAC arrived yesterday and I'm very pleased with it.

I'm using this with a Media Centre PC and a Naim Nait 5 that I bought for
it. I found that the onboard soundcard was too noisy. It's great that you
can just plug this DAC in to a USB socket and get a much improved sound
quality at a very good price. I know that there must be loads of people who
are more interested in sound quality than surround sound from their Media
Centre PCs - why don't you post some ads on some of the Media Centre forums
if you want to sell some more?

Andy Gigga (UK)

Albert,

The DAC arrived this morning. Impressive delivery service.
All seems well, now listening to Gidon Kremer & Keith Jarret playing "Fratres" by Arvo Part and it sounds very nice

Thanks for the prompt .service

Hello

I have now tested your DAC, and I find it very good.

I have used it in two systems:
System 1: with a Tandberg 4035 cd-player (800 $). In this system (3000$) your DAC sounded smooth/warm and clear, much better than the original DAC in the Tandberg player.

System 2: with a Primare 30.1 cd-player (2500 $). In this system (20000$) the sound was also smooth/warm and detailed, but the Primare player gave a sound with more “body”, but at the same time more “digital”. It is difficult to say if it is better, the sound was different.

I think your DAC give the sound an analogue touch, and at the same time it is very detailed. That is very good!

I am very pleased.

Sincerely,

Bjorn Erik Tollin (Norway)

klasse DAC, ein echter Nono halt, verbessert d. meisten Player!

Ok, finally had a good play with it and was impressed.

There was improvement in image as compared to an upsampled cd in
image with a mellowing of the overall sound. What really worked well was when
I used it with my pc for mp3s. Even 128kb/s opened out filling the room. My
next step is to see if I can dispense with the cd player by using lossless
sound files.

The system I tried it on was a pair of modded Shanling valve monoblocks and
Honer Zeus speakers.

Best regards
